The SMB Stewardship Association says nature offers great car and room fresheners, making artificial commercial products unnecessary. A handful of balsam fir boughs or a handful of bayberry leaves placed on your vehicle’s back window, or in small indoor spaces such as bathrooms, laundry rooms and closets, smell great, cost nothing, involve zero packaging waste, and protect us from unknown and synthetic compounds.
And if you’ve cut back tree branches, wild roses and other shrubbery in the autumn, save the prunings for holiday wreaths, such as this lovely rosehip wreath made by a Bay resident after she cut back wild roses by her driveway.
As always, please harvest sustainably!
