Older adults needed for research study on emotion recognition

March 10, 2020

Are you interested in donating 30 minutes of your time to help students from Mount St. Vincent University with a fascinating research project?

All you have to do is view some pictures and videos, and identify the emotions you believe are being portrayed. You will also complete a couple of short questionnaires. All volunteer participants will be entered into a draw to win a $20 Tim Horton’s gift certificate. All individual results will be kept confidential.

Why are the students asking Bay Residents to help out? Because it’s easy to find young adults on a university campus, for for students, accessing older adults is a little more difficult.

If you’d like to participate, please call one of the student researchers, Chaya Seale, at 902-237-4754. Chaya is booking spots for Thursday afternoon in St. Margaret’s Bay, and would be interested in setting up another interview date in the St. Margaret’s Bay area later this month.

Acrylic on wood, 9 x 12, Unframed, $155. The calm, the peace, the freshness of a frozen lake in the winter. So many tranquil shorelines of beauty surround the Bay. We have the majesty of the ocean all around us, and beyond their cresting waves, in amongst the trees and forest, is the quiet, peaceful, silent stillness of our many lakes. A lake in the winter takes on a different sense of quiet and stillness. Breathe in this moment, this beauty. Breathe in peace.
